Pistol Pete ---
I know you are probably busy, but on August 18th I left a post about trying to get 98 to install on my old laptop. You said you were going to type up those instructions, but so far, nothing. The last we heard from you was on the 19th. I would appreciate any help you have. Thank you very much (ahead of time) for taking your time to type that up for me!

Hi everyone,
Sorry I will not be of any help here. You are attempting to install Win98 on a laptop with a 50Mhz processor, 20Gb RAM and a hard drive that is only 120Mb.
Win98 minimum hard drive space is 195Mb. Minimum requirement for the processor is 66Mhz.
I shall follow this post along with the other one as I am very curious of how this can be done especially on a 120Mb hard drive.
Regards, Mesich

the only way it can be done effectively is by using 98Lite...although I am sure I responded to this earlier

don, yes you did respond to this earlier. I do not want to purchase 98Lite in order to install it on this old laptop. I wanted the 98Micro install, but you need the full version for that. Pistol Pete said that he had a method of doing this and that he would type it out and post it here.

you can use the trial version...you just have to install Windows with the DOS switches to eliminate memory and hard drive requirements...choose "custom' install and install just the basics...and then after it install you would use the 98lite trial to clean Windows up so it runs wells...I swear I have seen Windows98 running on a 386 done up with 98lite

Yes, but the problem is that the harddrive is too small in the first place for it to install. Pistol Pete said he had a method... but it seems to be taking awhile for him to respond with his instructions.

alright man...I don't know what to say...other than email me and I will get you straightened out with the 98Lite
i just checked and it will install down to 50MB, and you'll need about 50 for your swapfile...so it will work with Lite pC, and I can help you get it done
