I was given a Deskwriter 660c printer for a Mac computer. Does anyone know if there is a cable that will connect this printer to windows?

Basing from the HP site, and searching the documentation (searching for the keyword 'microsoft' and 'windows') on the same site, I would daresay a conventional line of communication to a PC doesn't exist. It appears the Deskwriter line is the Apple parallel to the PCs' Deskjet series.

Then again, I don't know what the connection looks like for an Apple.

If the printer was designed to work with both Mac and Windows then there will be a cable available. I have a couple of printers that supposedly work with both Mac and Windows. There were installation disks for both OSes. The ports on the printer are no different than any other printer. I don't know what the end that would connect to a Mac would be, but if I had to guess I would say it is the same cable.

The Printer uses a mini-Din-8 cable.

There is more to the printer being compatible with an OS besides the cable port. I have a dot matrix printer that was used on a Apple IIE. The printer and cable look identical to the PC version. The model number is even the same except for the suffix on the Apple version. The printer wouldn't work in Windows.

I found a web site that tells you what drivers to use and another web site that has the cable that I need. I'm going to give it a shot. Thanks for your replys.
