I am trying to help a friend who has a Pionex computer with an Internal 56K modem.
The problem is that Pionex will not release the brand of the modem unless we pay a $29.95 service charge. The only other information I know is that the model that Pionex appears to say it is MDP7800-U PCI with a Serial Number 7001825106. Does anyone have any ideas on where I can find out what type of driver this is? We have tried locating the brand on the modem itself, but the only identifier was the Serial Number. Can anyone help?

Hi Angela Richardson:
See if you can find some info in Control Pannel/System/Device Mananger under the modem device. Another way is to carefully open case (if not sealed to void warranty), ground yourself to discharge static energy (so you don't damage circuit boards. Just remove screw holding modem & remove carefully, then see if the manufacture's name & model number is listed on circuit board. One last thing is that for the $29.95 charge your friend should be able to find another cheap modem to replace it, should it be a problem. If modem is a major brand, then you might be able to download latest drivers for the web.Good luck.

The model number looks really familiar to me. I believe that it is an Aztech modem. One sec... Cool. Here ya go
