Guessing but... is there an issue with '98FE and usb that is/was resolved with '98SE?

Are the other usb devices usb-1 or usb-2?

Are there any upgrades (usb related) for '98 be it FE or SE on the M$ etc. site?

Any input on the Mobo web-site re' the two flavours of usb?

Did you go to the url below and download the correct drivers for your model?

http://www.kingston.com/support/downloads/usbdatatrav/default.asp

I know it says for Win98SE, but I have been able to use those type of drivers on Win98FE with no problems at all.

USB was not correctly and fully implemented until 98SE. Some devices will work, but not all.

I have installed Kingston Data Traveller 11 with windows 98SE. Did you decompress the file (DT2PW98.EXE) after you downloaded. Were you able to get to the installation wizard? Exactly what happened. Did you get a message that windows couldn't find the driver? Thanks for more info.

I think that was a good question trvlr made when he asked, "is there an issue with '98FE and usb that is/was resolved with '98SE?" I think that may be a possible problem. We'll know for sure when we get a reply from the OP.

I believe in the Big Bang. God said it, and BANG it happened!
