Comment:
Upon bootup the following message comes on with three short beeps: "PhoenixPlash Error Cannot flash memory managers (e.g. HIMEM) are present: PhoenixPhlash utility 4.0 Relese 1.17" I let my brother use my computer to search for drivers. When I came back and turned on my computer, this is what I now get everytime I turn it on.

i would look in your autoexec.bat for a reference to that and delete it. also run msconfig-under startup tab and uncheck anything related to that. that file was supposed to be copied to a basic bootdisk for upgrading the bios, along with a bios update file, sounds like it is being called from your autoexec.bat, also check the startup folder in programs, if there delete it.

run a search start-search-type in file name and press enter, when found delete it.

Thanks "and" and "visitor". I went to Windows Explorer, clicked on [C:], found the "Phlash" file, deleted it, restarted my dinosaur, and IT WORKED!!!! It now boots up without that annoying "Cannot Flash Memory Managers (e.g. HIMEM) are present" message!!! I really appreciate both of your suggestions. Thank you very much. Curt.
