Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what is the largest HDD capacities that the Phoenix 1.10 Bios, revisions A00 and A03, supports on a Dell Latitude LS 400Mhz notebook?
All insights are appreciated.

I couldn't find any comments on that. The newest bios version from Dell for the Latitude LS is A09 but the description, as well as descriptions from previous versions, didn't mention HD recognition. But if you're wanting to install a larger drive and you're not sure if the bios will see it, it'd be best to upgrade the bios.
I would think there would be no problem up to at least 8 gig with any of the bios versions. The A09 version I think was dated from 2002. Most bios' with that date should see at least 60 gig but I can't say for sure if that's true for a Phoenix bios or laptop computer. You may want to try emailing Dell.
You also have the option of using a drive overlay if the bios doesn't correctly see the drive.

Thanks for responding.
My laptop has neither a cdrom nor a floppy. Although flashing the bios sounds great, can it be accomplished without these drives - given that most flashes occur before the system boots completely?

Without a floppy or cdrom drive, you are kinda up the creek. No way to `flash' OR use an `Overlay'. If you have USB or PCMCIA ports, you `might' be able to attach something that way.

How do you load things?? Only the "net"?
