The faster of the two cpus is the k6-350.

The amd is a better choice because you can buy 100 bus boards today where your only choice on the 233 is the 66 bus.

Although most moterboards today have both the 100 and the 66 bus.

Concerning the MB:
Every MB that can handle an AMD K6-350 can also handle a p-233. But not every MB that can take a p-233 will take the AMD.

That's exactly the sitaution i have.
p233 mmx homebuilt
k6-2amd 345 compaq
DIC is right. AMD outperforms the Pmmx
on bus speed alone. I have learned that even so you can run the same apps on both-just be
a little more patient on the p233.

The best choice would be the Pentium, AMD K-6 proccessers were originaly designed to be the "cheap proccesser" , My expirience with a K6 was a horror, the proccesser as i said is cheap and weres out to easily my K6 proccesser wore out after two years. Definintly a BAD investment!

either or ,the K6-350 is a reliable chip when the proper heatsink/fan are used ,and about every 6 months or so,unplug your pc take off the cover and using aerosol compressed air to blow the dust off the heatsink/fan and power supply ,it will last just as long as an intel.
