wud appreciate any help.

hv just installed NICs to my and my wife's PC. am using "direct-connect" aka PC-to-PC crossover cable (no hub). thru checking forums, hv figured out the settings to see drives and ptrs from each PC.

I hv laser ptr, wife has color ptr. hv been able to set up laser ptr on wife's PC and print test page successfully.

but when I try to print color page, both PCs CPU resources peak and cycle indefinitely. I can view ptr folder and see print job spooling, but never get output. also cannot cancel print job from either PC, so hv to shutdown to free up CPU.

can anyone help?

thx-mark

What are your network settings. You should have the Ms client for Windows networking installed, and Netbieu. No need for any other protocol. Add sharing for MS windows network. Re install the prn driver too.

What brand of printers, I've got an okidata okipage 4W (led) that needs the latest driver to be share on a net also have a Epson Stylus IIs that won't print in a net unless you change something in the spool(I've read about it but hasn't done it yet)
So check the manufacturer page and download the latest drivers.

A customer of mine has a peer-to-peer network setup using only Mac systems. He just bought a Compaq laptop which he would like to be able to print on all of his printers. He is hitting the network because he is able to see 1 printer. In his network neighborhood properties he has tcp/ip, netbeui, and ipx/spx, client for microsoft networks, and file and print sharing for microsoft networks setup. He has 5 printers and a print server. He is also using ethernet connections for his peer-to-peer. The prints are 2-epson 3000, 1-epson 1200,and 2 Laserwriter. The entire office is able to print to all the printers, but he can only see and print to one printer. Which is the Epson 3000 but not the other four. Anytype of solution would be appreciated.

Using IP/Netbui on peer to peer network with win95 & win98, but netbui can't handle large print jobs (550 & up) like when we print newsletters. How can win9x use tcp/ip print spooling?
