Hi,
I have just bought a pcmcia wireless network card for my dell omnibook xe2 - 333 mhz. My PCMCIA slot is only version 1.10 and the card says it needs 2.10 (slot 2 type) - is there any way of upgrading this pcmcia slot on the laptop or will the card still work?

Thanx in advance

DB

The difference between Type 1 and Type 2 cards is the thickness of the card. Most PCMCIA slots on laptops will take two type 2 cards. I have found that your system will take a type 2 PCMCIA card, your wireless network card should fit right in.

I also bought a Type 2 PCMCIA wireless card for a Toshiba Portege 300ct laptop. The card fit in the slot but is not recognized by Plug and Play. I know the card is good because I tried it in a new Dell laptop..... no problems. I read that the only difference between Type I and Type II is size, but in this case there is a different problem.
