Comment:

I downloaded and installed the latest version
of HP's driver for the Laserjet 6P/MP. I have
since been unable to print in any application
except Wordpad. I always get a page out the printer with the following error message:
PCL XL error subsystem: KERNEL
Error: Illegal Tag
Operator: (various hex numbers)
Position: (various numbers)

When I uninstalled the driver and used the
Windows standard HP driver, everything worked
fine (minus the features of the HP toolbox),
so I know it's not a connection problem, although another symptom when using the HP is the status box reports a connection loss. I am using Win98, 2nd ed., and everything else
is working fine. Any ideas how to solve this problem?
