If your motherboard has the Apollo VIA chipset, go to http://www.via.com.tw/products/prodmvp3.htm
You can download the most current drivers there. I "believe" the pci.dll file will be installed from VIRQ13AW.exe.

Norton SystemsWorks tells me my computer is missing that particular file. What is it and where do I find it. I sure would like the red light on the Norton SystemsWorks to go out.

My norton system doctor says that I'm missing the pci.dll file. I have looked everywhere for it! If you know where I can get it, please e-mail me!

My norton system doctor says that I'm missing the pci.dll file. I have looked everywhere for it! If you know where I can get it, please e-mail me. My motherboard is a Soyo V6be+.

I do also have the problem "missing pci.dll" in Norton Windoctor and I also want this problem fixed. Can anybody help me?

Everybody is reporting the "missing file" message.
Could it be a smart way to track down Norton's Utilities users?
Or it's just another usual Microsoft "forgot when patched" file?

looks like I am joining a growing list of norton users missing this file. It sure isn't on Microsoft's site

Guess what... I am missing pci.dll as well.
It seems though that it's not that big
a broblem since the VIRQ13AW.exe which needs
it, does not get installed. But the Norton error report is outrageous...

Surprisingly there's another one wanting to get that fu..... file. But I heard, that it isn't that important. It's said to be just a text file. But if somebody gets it PLEEEEAAASE contact me. mail or ICQ: 56243540
Thanks!

Also missing pci.dll file according to Norton System Works. Says vtnirq.pci requires this file. Can anyone shed some light on this.

Must be a bug or something in System Works. I even tried at ecusa.com and downloaded new motherboard drivers, no such luck. AAARRGGHH!

I want PCI.DLL files
Please some body help me.
somebody have it please send e-mail to me.
please............................

Hi folks,
this file is only a dummy file from norton utilities to be used, as i read on a messageboard on cnet edit by notepad into a text file : This file is only used to pass the Norton Win doctorīs test. save this file in the windows\system directory as pci.dll, and thatīs it. it works, as a friend of mine has had the same problem, now it disappeared
regards uli

I also get that "missig pci.dll" in Norton system Doctor. I have not had any luck in search for it either.

This file is only used to pass win doctor test....get it will not show up durring a file find on the Norton install disk...the file contains no information at all. its a dummie file..copy a file..delete all its contents with an editor..rename it pci.dll and move it to c:\windows\system directory...really im not kiddin

The Notepad thing FIXED the Norton pci.dll problem! Thanks, guys! :) :)
All I did was open Notepad, didn't type anything, and just saved the empty text file under the name pci.dll in the Windows\System folder. Now Norton's happy... and so am I. :) :)

Well, without intentionally defending Norton (lol) I have been using his SystemWorks2000 since it first came out. Just today, I got the error message that I am missing my
file! By the looks of things, Nortons seems to be the overall complaint. Well, anyway, if you got it, I want it. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME OUT! =) Thanks.

The pci.dll is not a text file.
It can be replaced by one, but this is simply a workaround.
The file vtnirq.pci needs this file.I noticed that everyone who mentioned their motherboard model had a Via chipset in their motherboard.
This file is part of the drivers for these motherboards.
Via provides a 4-in-1 driver for their motherboards. (www.via.com.tw)
Downloading this and isntalling it should fix the problem properly.

where on the www.via.com.tw site is the driver location. mentioned on #27. the blank file worked for me also. but, i would like to have the right file.
