Hi all
I have an old computer at home running on Windows 95 and I have a scanner that requires USB interface. I bought a PCI card with 2 USB 2 ports (backwards compatible) and I bought a second hand (but new in the packet) Windows 98 CD with COA.
Only problem is the box the PCI USB card came in says "Requires Windows (R) 98/98SE/ME/2000/XP" but the little booklet says the drivers are for 98SE. The disk I bought (still to arrive in the post) is apparently not SE... oops!
So... if the drivers are for 98SE do you think it will work in 98FE???
If not, then bugger, what should I do now?

Whenever USB is involved, i always go with at least win98se. Win98FE has USB support, but it's kinda buggy. You can try installing the pci usb card with Win98FE, it may work out ok, but's it's not a guarantee. Good Luck.

I have Installed a PCI USB 2 card which require Win98SE on a Win98FE computer with no problems, I have also Installed the Lexar USB Jump Drive drivers which they say are for Windows 98SE onto the same Windows 98FE computer and it works just fine, so I would say it is a very good chance it will work for you.
