I don't know about your problem but I can't get the damn thing to work on windows 95. The drivers that came with it won't install. I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction as to where I can find them. Cheers.

I've got an MM100PCTV tv tuner card and it was working fine under win95 with a generic 2MB cirrus logic pci videocard. I've since upgraded to a VooDoo Banshee and now the tv application wont work in Overlay mode which is very very annoying since without this the card is largly useless...

I have a different pctv card, but it won't work with the memory chips on newer graphics cards. Any time I use an older graphics card with standard memory, it works fine in tv and overlay mode, but refuses with newer memory chips. The manufacturer does not supply drivers for the newer memory types. Just a thought, but worth checking out on your pctv board.

I have PcChips M577(rev3.0) Matrox MGA-200 video and MM100PCTV win98 and win 95. I can get the card to work, after a fashion. It seems that there is an inherant incompatibility between the brooktree card (TV) and the VIA chipset on motherboard. With the latest motherboard drivers from

http://www.via.com.tw/drivers/index.htm

I can get my system to display video/TV, however I continue to experience system freezes (all visable stops moving but still have sound, kbd and mouse inoperative). Teletext is worse, it stalls anywhere between instant freeze to 15 minutes of activity the freeze.

I've installed the latest or recommended drivers for every device on the system, experimented with every Bios setting imagined and can't cure it. So if anyone knows how to solve my problems I'd be greatful.

If anyone wants advice on getting to the stage of just running the card mail me!

I have an Alton(AKA PCChips) M570 M/B with 128Mb RAM (2x64Mb Dimms), ATI Expert 98 AGP card, Kinston PCI Network card, Adaptec 2940U SCSI card, 8.4Gb Maxtor HDD, BTC CDROM, Awia 8000 tape, IOMega Jazz drive and IRDA port.

Under 95 the system work well but I wanted to get the USB ports working. That is when the fun began. When using the onboard sound card the system would either hang at boot up or reboot when ever the sound card had to make a noise. If I played with the bus timing in the BIOS it would work for a short while before freezing. When it was working and I accessed the floppy drive the system would reboot.

Any help would be apperciated.

I had the same overlay problem when I upgraded to a Banshee card.

The only fix I have found is to install the original drivers that came with the Banshee card. Any installation of newer drivers and the problem returns. The re-installation of the older drivers meant clearing/reinstalling Windows at the same time as the 3dfx uninstall never actually uninstalled anything !

I too would love a fix for the newer Banshee drivers ...

Roughly the same problem...
I've got a 3Dfx Voodoo 3 2000 -16Mb card.
However, upon installation of my new TV card, I cannot use the software's 'overlay' problem. I know this is a DirectX fault, but can anyone tell me of any patches which will allow both my card to function in harmony.

When I purchased my previous computer, a Pentium II 133 running Windows 98, I had an MM100PCTV card installed and it worked OK except I could never play music CDs. Anyway I was not too worried about that as everything else worked. I have recently purchased a Pentium III 450Mhz running Windows 98 but without a PCTV card so I decided to remove the card from the old computer and install it in the new. However I could not get it to work so I visited this site and checked out the messages.
As a result I visited the website:
http://www.modulartech.com/tv.htm
and downloaded Disk 1 and 2 of the installation program as well as noting the suggested change to the Registry. After installation of the new Disk 1 and 2 and adjustment of the Registry my PCTV worked OK but I had no sound. Having gained some experience with my previous setup I changed the cables around and, lo and behold, all is now working well.
In my previous setup the computer only had one internal connection for any sound source so the connections had been set up so that the CD sound cable was connected to the lower connection on the PCTV card and then another cable was connected from the upper connection on the PCTV card to the internal sound connection. The new computer has 3 separate internal sound connections so I have connected my CD sound cable to one of these connections and I have connected the PCTV card via the LOWER connecter to another of the internal sound connectors. As I say all is now working OK including music CDs.
When I talk about upper and lower connectors on the PCTV card I am referring to their relative position when the card, correctly installed, is standing vertically.
I hope this helps. If I can help further then e-mail me.

Has anyone got the damn thing to work in overlay mode on a 3DFX voodoo 3000 agp yet. The modular tehnology site says that the card is'nt compatible but this is just a nightmare. Used to have a SIS 5598 motherboard-graphics card and it never worked on that either.

I have an MM100PCTV card also, and I've just managed to install it into my new computer (after some difficulties) which has a Voodoo 3000 in it. Worked fine at first, but now the picture has gone jerky and won't work in overlay mode when in fullscreen. The damn drivers won't download from the website either. Can anyone recommend a half-way decent TV card. One that's actually compatible with modern computers?

I have a Voodoo Banshee and had the same problem - it wouldb't work in overlay mode. However this registry hack (from the official site) made it work for me:-

To force your MM100 TV card to Primary Surface
Goto Start/Run and Type: REGEDIT
Then change the key value:
MY COMPUTER\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\BT848\Force Primary

from "0" to "1"

Hope this helps.

I had my computer repaired under warranty by
TIME in June this year and the problem was
nothing to do with MM100PCTV.
They reinstalled the free issue software and in doing so installed a later version of
PCTV/CEBRA teletext both the PCTY and Teletext had improvements in these later versions, mainly more TOOLS. In PCTV Tuner/Settings/Edit I can now Manually tune as well as auto tune and also use the fine tuner. In Edit your version may allow you to
change the TYPE from AFC to Manual. John

People, I don't know if this will help, but those of you with M570 boards and video problems may find that downloading the most up to date drivers from SiS's website may cure your problems. I don't have a TV card but I resolved a lot of AGP/Win98SE problems by installing these drivers.

The ones you want are the AGP driver for the 5591 chipset and the IDE driver for the 5513 and others. It made a drastic speed difference on boot up, especially with the hard disk set to 32-bit enabled in the BIOS.

Hope this sorts someone's probs out anyway! ;)

Laters,

Mulgie
