PC won't boot w/new printer (USB)

Hi folks, I recently added a new Lexmark X75 printer, copier, scanner to my system with a USB connection. Now my PC won't boot up until I remove the USB cable, then it will boot up. I asked Lexmark and they said my motherboard has some kind of grounding/shorting issue?? Anyone ever had this happen and/or know how to fix it?

1. Read and follow the install instructions very carefully. USB devices can be tricky to install. 2. Contact Lexmark tech support.

Nothing even begins to load up. There is sound that power is initiated but nothing loading, screen stays black. I should also have mentioned I installed the printer on another pc I have and everything worked fine. That makes me think there is probably something wrong with the USB connection.

Have you ever used that USB port before? If not, the connections to the MB may be incorrect. USB headers can be a pain. Don't guess at it though. You can burn out the header or worse.
