PC stops on Verifying DMI pool data

When I turn my PC on it stops at verifying DMI pool data. Any ideas as to how I can correct this? Thanks

Hi Jimmy,
Get a Win98 bootdisk and start the computer using it.
At the A:\>type sys c: Press [Enter]
Do not perform the above if you are using a dual boot on the computer. That is, using another operating system along with Win98 and being given the option which one to load at startup.

it sounds like you have a harddrive that is on the virge or has died, you need to boot into bios and see if you can autodetect your harddrive

That flashing cursor after dmi pool can mean no master boot record. You could have lost it due to a mechanical or virus infection. If you are missing the mbr you will need a boot disk containing fdisk and do a fdisk/mbr [actual command] before you do Mesich's suggestion of sys c:

I had the same problem before; it was my hard drive, it was no longer good. I had to replace it.
