If you can boot into safe mode, install this patch,

http://download.microsoft.com/downl...

If you cant boot into safe mode, you may have to put it on a floppy disk and boot to it.

There's some evidence the AMD patch linked to above can help even with a P-4 but your error probably needs the NDIS patch. Check this recent thread and my # 11 there for more info:

Why not Win2000? or even 98SE?

1278MB is WAY too much RAM for Win95. Lower your RAM amount to 512MB or less.

If you are running legal Windows then what is the issue with WGA? Also, there are ways around WGA if you are legal but just annoyed with the process. If you have problems with DRM then don't use Windows Media Player.

use windows 2000, nothing works in windows 95. i actualy choose windows 2000 over windows xp and i have legal copys of that. almost every thing that runs on xp runs on 2K w/ out the WGA bs (i hate it to)

If you limit Vcache in system.ini file you should still be able to use the large RAM without various error messages. The reduced cache is plenty for W95/98:

http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...

So, under the [vcache] heading in system.ini you restrict the cache to 512M by adding:

MaxFileCache=524,288

(or a little less).
