I just purchased a Quantex N30w laptop that was missing the hard drive, memory, and battery at a bankruptcy sale yesterday. I installed the memory, hard drive and battery into the computer and wanted to format the new hard drive to windows 98 SE; however, when the system came up, it asked for a password...I assume that the bios which is Phoenix Technologies, version 4.0, release 6.0 must have had a password imbedded into the bios..Question is: How do I remove the password from bios, since I can't get into the setup? Does this mean that I have to replace the bios chip or the motherboard? Quantex as you all know is under water..Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dennis
