OKay, I have a toshiba 4090 Laptop with 6 gigabytes. The harddrive is formatted. Somebody else installed 98 ages ago and partitioned the hard drive. Then I deleted those other partitioned drives (like I had drive d, e, f, g and I deleted them). How do I get the drives I deleted back and combine them into just one drive c?

Get partition magic. It will merge all your drives...

Or you can fdisk and delete the whole things and reinstall from scratch...

Or... You can upgrade your 98 to winnt/2k/xp and then use a partition utility from winnt/xp/2k.

Hope that helps.

once you boot it with win98 disk

go to c:\>

c:> fdisk

then it will be menu driven

look for delete primary partition

and create primary partition

and reboot

leave your win98 cd there
then after boot it up

go to your cd rom drive

d:>setup

then win98 will be reinstalled

your whole disk vol should show after you install 98.

Delete them all first... that is what you want right?

then create partition, then reboot to win98 cd again.. then do setup from d:>

this time will work..

it may ask you to format the disk while doing set up, say yes or okay
