This site has Partition Resizer ( Freeware ) , which may interest you ,
no files are lost using it . Plenty of step by step help included .

Hi!
I am assuming that you want to switch between partitions.
You can do this using fdisk. boot using a boot disk and run fdisk and make the partition, you want to access, active.
Do you have other operating system on other partitions?

Partition Magic is not free but a LOT easier than Partition Resizer.

You can merge the partitions, and PartitionMagic is a really nice program to work with. I think I paid like $60-70 for it and it is worth every penny. However, before you start messing with any partitions, back up all your data files; i.e. letters, documents, email, favorites, cookies -- anything you can't put back on the computer with a program cd. If you have a recordable/rewriteable cd drive, or a zip drive, you could even use Microsoft Backup to back up all those files to another partition then onto whatever storage media. Then, if your partitions merge without problems, good deal. But, if the partitions don't merge correctly, you can reformat, install the os and the programs, then reinstall all the data you saved using Microsoft backup.
