I don't know a whole lot about XP, from which I'm sure you set up the partition. But I do know that in order for Win98 to access anyhing from the XP partition, XP must be in FAT32 format. Have you checked this? Ray

Windows98 can use software and files located on any partition that is FAT32 or FAT16. Newer partitions like NTFS or Linux partitions are not recognized by Win98 and you won't be able to access them. If you can "see" the partition, then you can use it without a problem.

Under normal circumstances, no it shouldn't mess up any files and folders you have on that partition. However it's better to be save than sorry! Make a backup first.
