can not download windows from CD, keep getting "Error Notice CD101" Laptop running Phoenix Bios 4.0. Release 6.0 written in Japanese. would it be possible to find a English Version of this Bios? If so, would it download over the Japanese version.

down load a win95 boot disk with cdrom drivers on it.
boot with it, and the cd-rom drivers will load and after you format the drive, you can do windows

Have tried both 95 & 98 Bootup Discs.
neither will let me run windows CD

Sounds like a bad cdrom.
Some bios upgrades have a language option so I assume if yours does then it'd replace the japanese with the english version. You'd need to check at the laptop manufacturer's site.
