Hi Guys,
Have a problem. hope you can help.
When ever I turn on my PC, a web page pops up. this is not my Home page.I have tried Adaware and a pop up stopper, but nothing works.
Is there a way to stop this --pain in the neck problem.
Thanks in advance.
MoR.

I have some advice here for anyone with annoying pop ups:
1.Run Adaware - This program checks your computer for any spyware that may be infesting it, however it will no catch everything, so do every step here. Run it weekely.2.in Internet explorer select tools>options> Delete Cookies and Delete Files. This will get rid of all your stored passwords and webpages, but there could be some thing shere causing spyware.
3. Use a program to view every file running on your PC (Ctrl+Alt+delete) will not show you everything... EndItAll is tje one I use, but there are others..
get it here:http://home.ptd.net/~don5408/toolbox/enditall/Now go online and look up every single one of those, some may be causing your system to slow down or giving you pop ups.. I had some program called "rapibblaster" on my computer that I found out causes porn popups.. got millions of porn popups before and didnt know why... There are plenty of lists of Start up exectuble programs aviable online which should have every program. Dotn delete anythign without any idea what it is, and if you have spyware search it down and destroy it! this may catch viruses as well.
4.Use a Pop-Up killer to block all pop ups or just certainb ones you choose, they really do work wonders.
5.This one is only slightly related - Run a virus scan on a regurally basis.. A good one will catch viruses, trojans, and maybe some annoying popups!6.Simple - dont assume you have spyware on your computer if you are browsing online and get popups, it's most likely the site you are on when this happens... thats why we have pop up killers.
For you, I would say to check out number 3 before anything... Adaware isnt perfect, it misses some programs. Good luck

If this page really does appear when you turn on your computer (without opening IE) I would see if you can find the entry somewhere, such as:
1. In the start menu under Programs/StartUp.
2. Type msconfig in the Run box and see if there is any sign of it there in the "Startup" tab. Also make sure it is not in other tabs such as system.ini or win.ini
As Zoda said at #3 if you search Google you will find several free programs to check what is running on your computer (including those that are started from the registry).
