My son has downloaded a P2P file on his computer, I have told him to delete it and a friend of mine gave me Kazza Gold, I was wondering if it was safe? I have heard many stories about viruses and spyware but my friens works in computers and says its spyware free, but i'm concerned about the safety of my computer as our computers are networked. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also if my son uses Outlook Express he recieves all of my emails aswell so he tried out hotmail and downloaded MSN Messenger, is that alright? I hear that it can seriously wreck your computer?

kazza : aint so much the spyware installed its the network and files on kazza spyware aint nothing to viruses that are spread through the network,
HTTP.Handy virus is strictly a kazza virus just to name 1, (it attaches to every exe in the kazza share folder)
dont Download software from kazza "games, appz" most are illegal, music is pretty safe virus wise.

msn,
is fine aslong as your kid stays wize about who and what mail he recieves,,, DONT USE POP3 msn mail (connecting through outlook "not good idea) ,,, connect to the site via messenger to get mail remotely like u will use yahoo ,, the files stay on msn rather than download stright to pc like outlook does by default,,

safe idea .. setup a yahoo mail and any site or anything that requires "e-mail " give yahoo.,,, if its a site that dont accept freemail addresses use "DORAmail" its free

"" mailwasher "" software will connect to the POP3 (outlook e-mail) and display files while still on server ,, delete dodgy mail with this tool before you open outlook,,

hope this helps

good luck

Yeah thanks, we installed the kazza gold disk, and now the wireless router we've used so that we can both get on the ADSL line keeps disconnecting my sons computer, have you any thoughts on what would help us out?

Do you mean like go on the hotmail website and sign in? does that not download your mails?

hi.

you might have to allow access for the port's kazza uses "i cant remmember correctly" but i think you can Also change ports in kazza itself"
check out the kazza the options in kaz probley a setting i.e behind firewall , connecting through LAN, router , etc etc,, each setting will assign a differnt port automaticly,

sounds like its trying to connect to your router thinking its the kaz server and its dropping connection, it needs to go past.

honestly tho , i havnt used kazaa in a long long time * check out there support or better still "start a new post" title it something like " ADSL router keeps dropping connection OR kazaa cant connect through router, ( u know what i mean lol )
maybe a current user of kazaa can sort your glitch.

MSN either sign in on the site or as i do just click the link on the contact's window in messenger "saves signing in everytime"
msn normaly pops up a message next to clock when you get new mail each time u sign in saying if u have mail.

msn will only download mail to your computer if connected through a pop3 client "like outlook express"
going to the msn site gives you the choice if you want to download attachment's where as outlook (pop3) will download all messages and attachments to you harddrive ready to be displayed ( i dont like this as few attachments i had stayed on my system even when i deleted the mail "Normaly virus/trojans").

sorry i couldnt be more help with kazaa m8

good luck
