Outlook fatal application errors

I am using Microsoft Outlook 98 on a Windows 98 machine. I get a fatal application error right after I shut Outlook down. I believe the problem has stemmed from McAfee's VirusScan (version 4.0.2) interference with Outlook. The problem is every time I shut down Outlook, I get a different Fatal Error code. I have re-installed Mcafee's VirusScan numerous times, all to no avail. If someone has any idea on how to fix this problem or why it is occuring, I would appreciate the help.

I have McAfee`s Office Suite and after several days of tweaking, I found that some of these programs are prone to conflict with other programs. I had to remove McAfee`s VirusScan (the biggest culprit) and install another anti-virus program. After that, I had no problems. If you`d like to try a great FREEWARE program, check this one out:

There were problems with McAfee and Outlook 98 that were causing the problem you describe. McAfee had a work around on their web page, but you may have to dig through all of the threads to find it. I don't remember the "fix", but it involved changing some configuration options to not scan some type of mail. Good luck digging.
