Encarta'95 stopped working so I uninstalled it and tried to re-install it but when I run setup all I get is a box which says'Processing top level information failed' setup was not completed. I am stumped. I've even tried a manual install from DOS to no avail!! Any ideas?
Ever since I updated to Outllok express 6 and IE6 I have had two problems. The first is that after downloading mail outlook express puts a file called"~" on to my desktop. Don't know what it is, can anyone help? The system doesn't seem to mind me deleting it! The problem I have with with IE6 is that frequently graphics only partially load or come up with a red cross rather than the graphic and I have to keep refreshing the page. It never used to do this with IE5. Any ideas?

Encarta: Not sure about this one.
Outlook Express: This is a bug in one of Microsoft's patches (what else is new?!). This is actually a backup of your Outlook Express default address book. It saves it to the desktop as a tilde ("~") instead of the location where it should save it. You can move it where you like. If you lose your OE address book, you can always rename the "~" file to [filename].wab and it will be a valid address book file.
IE6: Have you ever installed and uninstalled a program called FTP Voyager (http://www.ftpvoyager.com/). I've seen this behavior in IE5.5 and IE6 after uninstalling FTP Voyager.

Thanks brent_epp. It's nice to know the "~" file wasn't some virus.
To answer your question.....No, I have never installed or uninstalled FTP voyager. I am wondering if its my ISP deciding the computer is taking too long to download the graphic and disconnecting me from the web site?
Regards
Mick
