At work i use Win95 with IE5.5. I am behind a proxy server. I have a password with which I can access the internet with Explorer through the proxy server (port 80), and IE5 does work. However Outlook Express can't find the server of my POP3 (remote) email accounts. Is there a way to configure Outlook Express so that it will also work through the proxy server?

From the Outlook Express menu bar:
Tools > Options > Connection Tab > Click "Change" button under INternet Connection Settings.
Click LAN SETTINGS button near bottom. Check USE PROXY SERVER and put in the proxy's IP and port # (you indicated 80)

Thanks very much for replying. I'm afraid this doesn't work though. I (immediately) get this error:
The host 'dds.nl' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'dds.nl', Server: 'dds.nl', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11002, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D
Notice the port number: 110, even though I configured port 80 in the LAN options. Changing the LAN settings actually stopped Explorer from working too. Only the default LAN settings installed by the Network Administrator, using an automatic configuration script for the proxy server, seems to works.
The problem (maybe) lies that my computer (and the proxy server) is not configured to use Outlook Express but instead uses MS Exchange 5.0 for mail (just for the local mail account, which I do not wish to use).
Does anybody have any other tips?
