Outlook Express freezes up

I am running Windows 98 SE on a computer at school where I teach. All runs well except for Outlook Express. It continuously freezes up on me and will not send nor receive. I have Mozilla's Thunderbird and it does just fine. I can also send and receive from www.mail2web.com.
I really like using Outlook Express and don't know how I can repair it. Can you uninstall and then go up to Microsoft's site and download OE for installation.

Depending on which version of Internet Explorer you are running, you might be able to do a repair. Outlook Express and Internet explorer are kinda linked together. Go to the Control Panel > Add Remove Programs, find Internet Explorer and select it. Click the Add/Remove button and you might see a 'Repair' option. Use it if it's available.

... adding to ham30's post, the entry you want is "Microsoft Internet Explorer and Internet Tools". The repair will show if you have ever updated from the original IE version. Just double clicking the entry will do. It's certainly worth a go.
