Outlook Express can't remember password

Comment:
PC came with Win98SE OEM version. Although "Remember password" was checked, Outlook Express failed to remember the password of my mail account. Each time when I check for mail, I have to type the password in a pop-up box.
I upgraded IE to 5.01, 5.01 SP2, then IE6. But the problem persists.

Do you have to identify yourself when you enter win98? Is your computer on a network?

No, I don't need to identify myself. It's a standalone computer. The other PC is also standalone.

Okie, outlook asks for a passwd each time you connect because you don't have a 'profile' as if you were connected on a network. So, create a profile (even if your computer is not connected to a network) and it'll work.

Kenz,
Thank you very much for your help.
After creating a user profile, Outlook Express 6 did remember the password when the email account was re-created. Thanks again. Tracey
