I am unable to connect to my Hotmail account from Outlook Express V.5. The reply i recieve is "Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Bad Request', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC31" Can someone help me. I have followed the account setting up procedure exactly as given in Help of Outlook Express.

CG is on the right track, I suspect. Since Hotmail tightened security recently after some "holes" were identified, any kind of proxy, especially firewalls or webfilters, may prevent access to hotmail. In my case I COULD access via OE5, but not on the website, kept getting a "404" error.

I had a few problems early on but it seems to be working fine now. I think some of the problems are at Hotmail's end. Not yours.
I'm not sure, but I heard Hotmail through Outlook Express 5 is still in sort of trial mode.
It might also depend upon ISP. I know i couldn't get it to work through one Isp - but it's been frine through others.
