My Outlook 2000 was delivered to my (ex-company) pc via a LAN. Its now a home pc. Whenever I try to do a detect/repair from its "Help" it will point to its original admin source path to look for data1.msi file. How can I resolve this if I download the Office 2000 admin packs and updates from this Microsoft download site: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=257983 How can I change the original source path so that I can do the update without diabling my Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition or other programs which have their source path from the LAN ?

My pc is now a standalone home pc. No LAN. I'm not connected to any LAN. I'm afraid if I download those admin updates and execute them in my now standalone pc it will mess up the registry and disable my Norton Antivirus which was originally delivered via the company LAN.

Have you cleared all the "old" (company) LAN settings via Control Panel/Network? If your Office/Outlook programs are in the "standard" place on the system (c:\program files\office etc) the updates pertaining to that program should install OK.
There are free antivirus programs out there which are much less of a resource hog than Norton and IMHO better. I've seen first hand, Grisoft AVG catch things that Norton missed. Again, IMHO.
