Could you please help me solve the problem of the outllib.dll file is linked to missing export mapi32.dll:36. I try to send email from the site that has email contact but I couldn't sent it. I once had eudora and had delete it. I am using internet explorer for my default browser. Anybody knows how to solve the problem, please help. Thank you so much for the information.

I have the same problem. The mapi32.dll file is already in my system folder and it still does not work.

Same problem! And -how what a surprise- no one in Microsoft is able to give an answer!!!
So hope to find the solution!
Bye

You need to deselect MAPI, click on the Edit pull-down menu and choose "Preferences". In the Preferences window, click once on the "Mail and Newsgroups" category. Uncheck the box next to the statement "Use Netscape Messenger from MAPI-based applications".
Here is the link where the resolution is found: http://help.netscape.com/kb/consumer/971014-39.html

Thank you, thank you,THANK YOU! Response #6 worked. I am now able to get into Microsoft Outlook again.

I used #8 remedy and it worked. I can now
use my Vistascan to scan to Microsoft Fax
instead of getting the error message. I would
add, however, that you must click on view
and select all to be able to display the
hidden file names "mapi32.bak.dll" and
"mapi32.dll" files. Then you can rename them.
This might be obvious to the experienced
people but not to p.c. marginals like me.

Responce to #6 posting. Thanks for posting your advise.
It helped me out big time.
Thanks again,Mark

I tried response #6 and it didn't work. Someone was using my computer to check their e-mail over the internet and they use Hotmail. After reading the page which response #6 refers to, I figured that this person was using MAPI based applications and screwed up my email ( I use Microsoft Outlook) so now I get that message about outllib.dll...blah, blah. But I tried #6 and rebooted my computer and I still can't open Outlook.... If anyone knows.... please help.

I get error when opening Outlook98 that says ileagal operation.....details point to outlib.dll.....any suggestions?

Number 6.. Thanks so much. I went right to that link and all is now well. Outlook is once again up and running.

when windows starts there is a incorrect mapi32.dll window when I click ok it gose away but some of the programs don't work properly I have tried every ones elses advice with no luck need help

Finally, if u need the file in question, go to the variety of pages mentioned in some of the messages above...

A bientôt.
I had the same problem while starting OUTLOOK 97, with the message in franch : read above please ; I renamed mapi32.dll to oldmapi32.dll and mapi32bak.dll to mapi.dll ; and it works ! Thanks to everybody specially to #6, 9 and 15. Bye.

I couldn't believe there was such help available anywhere! Eve the title of the page is very successful (very easy to spot!).
Thanks everyone and especially No 9 and No. 15

For future reference, create a backup copy of the mapi32.dll that netscape uses (~596K) and a backup copy that outlook uses (~668K). I sometimes switch between the two and get the same errors.

using McAFFEE virus scan, right click, go to enable, go to e-mail, i get message Mapi32.dll incorrect version, how do i fix
