I keep getting a memory error that says out of memory. I have loads of hard drive space and am unsure how to figure out the ram space. I have ran virus scan but no viruses and need some helpppppppppp! This happens when i open programs like picture it and i seem to be on low space when using the internet as windows do not open properly and close if more than one is being used, I get that message again out of memory.

Any ideas would be appreciated thanks!

You need to tell people more about your computer and hoe much ram you have. "Cacheman" from outertech.com is a free memory management program that has helped my computer.

if you can only open one window at a time with that much RAM then it's most likely a dos memory shortage.(the first 640k of ram) What programs are started by your config.sys or autoexec.bat?
OR, something is not configured right and windows is not releasing dos mem.
As a possible solution , try running the IE repair tool (Controlpanel/add remove programs/ select IE and click add/remove button, That should bring up a dialogue box with options to repair, add component ,etc.
Choose repair, then answer yes to next screen , then OK to run the IE fix. This repair resets a lot of other windows connfigurations, so may help the problem.

go to start, run, type in msconfig and click ok. when the panel opens go to startup and uncheck everything except systray and registry scan. if you need any of those startup items you can always go back in and check them again. that should lift your system resources and solve some of the problem. cacheman is a good program and may help, it certainly can't hurt.
