Some clarification questions: What brand and model is the hub? How many ports are on the hub, and how many are being used? How often, and when, does this occur?
Without this info, all I can tell you is that you have too many PC's on the hub and, if you can't live with this, go buy a switch and use it instead of the hub.

Collisions occur on a hub. I wouldn't worry about it unless you are getting data errors. If you simply can't deal with collisions, I would do as Chris mentioned and get a switch. Collisions occur on my 10 mbit Linksys hub (only 2 PCs on it) and everything is working fine.
