You need to find the manufacturer of the Graphics card and download the drivers from there web site.

If it is on-board graphics you need the MoBo manufacturer

If it is a card switch off PC and physically look at it to determine make/model

This may help in finding hardware information you need and note there are links for most of the hardware to get driver updates.

Thank you X86 and Ray. I am still trying to solve the problem I have downloaded Aida32 and it is very good. Can someone tell me where I might be able to either upgarade this driver of mine or tell me one to download. I have tried to update it through the device manager but it says it is the current one already. But it is dated 23/4/99
That is along time not to have a upgrade.

If you look at AIDA / DISPLAY / WINDOWS VIDEO / VISEO ADAPTER MANUFACTURER it gives you a link to update the video driver.

if not,

tell us what AIDA says under DISPLAY / GPU / VIDEO ADAPTER.

Or just look inside.

If it's an integrated video (on motherboard) we'll need to know what motherboard and bios version you're using. in AIDA under MOTHERBOARD / MOTHERBOARD & BIOS

There's a free program called Unknown Devices. It can be found at the following site.

Run it and it will tell you all you need to know.

Hi Ray,

thanks agsin for replying, I went into Aida and this is what I found. In display in windows video it says-Standard PCI graphic adapter vga. properties- device description Standard PCI graphic adapter vga.-serial number-vga.drv
in pci/agp video it says-s3trio3D/2x (86c362)
in GPU it has nothing.
does this give you any infomation, I hope so.
I will be very happy to have this back to normal.

Is this what you're looking for?

If so use device manager or add/remove programs to install it. Afterwhich you should have more settings options.

Hi Ray,

Thanks for this. I have tried to download this but it does not download, it stores a thing on notepad in my downloads. It just opens into wordpad. This is reallay driving me insane. I took the cover off the computer and found this info on card: on top of card it says: 0043058894 AGP-3D\2x-s-4M
on the other side it says: S3TRIO 3D/2X
onboard, QCA2HC, 86c368 0018B370C Korea

does this help further. I am beginning to think I will be stuck for ever with this problem.
