Only MSDOS Comp Mode for Intel 82371 IDE

Comment:
Win98 only wants to run in MS-DOS COmpatibility mode. Intel 82371 AB/EB Pci Bus Master IDE Controllers are not properly installed.
Problem is mentioned here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q151911 but the registry entry can not be found. I reinstalled the IDE drivers several times.

Boot sector computer viruses can cause a computer to use MS-DOS compatibility mode. Check your autoexec.bat and config.sys files to see if there is a CD-ROM driver for DOS loading when your computer is starting up. Just a couple of things
