ok i cant get more then 16 colors on my computer! my old video card isnt working at all! (have no clue why) and the one i put in i have no clue what kind it is so i cant dl a driver for it, now here come my other problem! i cant even get a standard driver from win 95 disk since my cd rom isnt working either (have no clue why either) i can play music cd's no prob and it recognizes it on boot up but its not in my windows explorer ect.... anyone know what i can do to fix this problem or maybe if i possiable have a virus??? (all connection are correct) please get back to me, im sooo sick of only having 16 colors!

Create a Windows emergency startup disk and try reinstalling windows again. You need to have win 98 to get cdrom boot disk. ok, goto START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS>STARTUP DISK>CREATE DISK. once disk made, reboot, choose start with cdrom support, and insert your win98 cd and type the letter of your cdrom drive (if your hd is c:, then temp ramdisk with tools is D: and cd is E:, if you have more than one partition just go up a letter, generally if in windows your cd is say E: the with boot disk it is F:) then at the E:\> ; F:\> ; whatever type setup, if you want make it go faster type setup /is. write back if you need more intructions.

I too have this problem. I only installed Windows yesterday, so It's unlikely to be that. Voodoo2 is the card. Any help appriciated.

I had the same problem too! Need to identify the chipset on your motherboard by downloading a program from http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/downloads/download.php/id/26 It is in a zipfile called ctbios.zip, open the zip file and execute the program ctbios.exe. Once you identify the chipset, go to the manufacturers website and download the appropriate driver. Then update the display adapter driver to the one you downloaded. Should solve your 16 colour only problem. My chipset was immediately identified as Sis630E. I then went to the Sis webpage and was able to download the driver to enable 256 and higher resolution. Took quite a bit of investigative work but finally got there in the end.
