I copied this from someone else because this person experienced exactly what I am experience right now. Plus there wasn't a response to what this person typed hopefully someon can help me

I have tried to formatting and loading
win98 to winxp. Each time i re-boot, i get this ole32.dll error caused by explorer at start-up. rarely I get through, both . then i cannot open help, or at times control panel.
other errors occassionally are Mlang.dll when I try to open control panel or explorer, if at all I succeed to boot.
cannot install win98, as I get stuck somewher at channel set-up in the final stages

I have partioned and formatted each time I install different OS. nothing seems to help.
So I guess this could be a hardware problem.

please helpppppp!!!!

The pasted query did not receive any replies because it apparently was typed by a person where their first language was not english.

Therefore the problem was not clearly stated.

Perhaps you can restate the problem in English and in your own words thereby bringing about a resolve to you and the other poster.

The first step to resolving a problem is understanding or identifying the problem.

Trnslation: Ole32.dll is probably damaged or missing and he can't open explorer.exe
Boot to dos, type:
edit c:\windows\system.ini
Under the [boot] section, you will find a line that looks like this:
shell=explorer.exe
Change it to look like this
shell=winfile.exe
When you boot windows, the windows 3.11 file manager appears. Go to the windows-->system directory and double click on sfc.exe Then delete ole32.dll (if found) and then in the sfc window, click extract one file from install disk. Select ole32.dll, destination directory c:\windows\system and source directory your win98 install disk. Click OK.
Boot to dos, type:
edit c:\windows\system.ini
Under the [boot] section, you will find a line that looks like this:
shell=winfile.exe
Change it to look like this
shell=explorer.exe
