I still use old versions of MSN Messenger occasionally to check other e-mail accounts etc. The thing is I have tried for ages today but cannot sign in on anything below version 6 - it just tells me my password or user name is incorrect. This is untrue because I can sign in on these accounts in the latest Version 6.

have MS stopped usage of older versions somehow?

ms is making it difficult for older versions, to force use of version 6, which will eventually be a must.
