Alright, someone on a chat that .ogg files should have a lot better sound quality than mp3's so I decided to rip a few.
The problem is that WinAmp refuses to play them!

I've got WinAmp 2.80 and the file in_vorbis.dll is in the winamp/plugins directory. When I open the preferences and look at the plug-ins the file doesn't appear there but the other ones do! (All in all there are six of 'em but no in_vorbis.dll).

To rip the files I used CDEx 1.40 beta 8, and the vorbis.dll (version 1.06 engine 1.04 encoder that came included). I set a rather big gap between the upper and lower bitrates, 128 to 256 kbps. Could this cause any trouble?

Please help me solve this problem and post if anything is missing or unclear.

The bitrate at which you encoded the Ogg files won't have any impact on whether it plays or not. I'd uninstall Winamp and reinstall it to see if the problem persists.

If it does you could post something on the Winamp forum about it and/or use an alternative media player for the time being.

Heres a link to a very good media player
At only 132kb this supports almost every format that Winamp does.. go check it out
