Hi all,
Had a prob when I tried to add Access to my MS Office from CD. Had multiple crashes trying to install it from the CD. Tried to uninstall Office from the CD and Control Panel, however Control Panel didn't list Office97 to be able to uninstall. Ran the Ofice97 CD to install and de-selected all entries to be installed to get Office97 back into Control Panel Add/Remove list, uninstalled it from there. Then re-installed Office97, more crashes. Ad nausium, got it back to uninstall from Control Panel>Add/Remove list. Then ran Eraser97.exe, which left over 200 invalid registry items (some clean-up tool that is MS) Cleaned those and re-installed Office97 and everything looked peachy until I tried to scan images (Epson Perfection 1650) and got error 'Unable to access the scanner because it is not ready or another application is using it.' etc. Yup, it's hooked up running and I was scanning with it just before the probs with Office97 and double checked the cables.
Anyone with an easy fix if it's something to do with the Office apps? Thought about Uninstalling/Reinstalling the Epson, but looking, it has more than one Uninstalling prog. for various apps. and didn't want to get into another Goat Rope after the Office junk. Any ideas for a Cheap Trick?
Thanks in advance.Cheers,
Bill2

Is there any chance you have Office running at Startup?
If so maybe removing that will stop the conflict with the scanning dll's.
Larry

Hi Larry,
Sorry for the slow response, we had a bit of an emergency come up.
Nope, don't have Office running at Startup. Guess I'll have to try and uninstall, then re-install the scanner. Hope that works.
Thanks for your response.Cheers,
Bill2
