Hello everyone, I ran into an interseting problem yesterday and was wondering if anyone knows what's going on. I was installing Microsoft Office 97 on a computer and it said something about winword.exe is not a valid windows name. What would cause that to do that? I know that that is a valid name. The CD isn't scratched, and I know that the CD-ROM is alright. Anyways, I tried to uninstall it and since it is corrupted, I can't. I need to either fix the problem or figure out how to get it uninstalled. Is there an easier way to uninstall it than to go into the registry and delete? Will norton clean sweep uninstall corrupt installations? Much thanks to anyone who can help me out.

You can undo the install if you know what folder it was installing to. Go to a dos prompt and type Deltree c:\ folder. Folder being the name of the folder it's in.
