Hi
If any of you guys can help me out with this one I'll be eternally grateful. Windows doesn't normally beat me but it has this time and it's driving me mad!!
I'm trying to install the Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 update. Downloaded the installer (o2ksr1a.exe)yesterday and cranked it up. Seemed to be downloading fine so left but received a "update did not install correctly message" at the end.
Sort of thing that happens all the time with Microsoft so thought nothing more of it. Cranked up the installer again but got the same message this time before it started to download.
"Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Update did not complete successfully blah blah blah". Told me to look in the temp log file which said the following.....
The version of IE installed on the computer is 6.0.2600.0
IE has already been updated to the level of Office 2000 SR-1 or above
Beginning download of http://download.microsoft.com/download/office2000prem/Update/3821h/WIN98/EN-US/data1.msp.

Finished downloading http://download.microsoft.com/download/office2000prem/Update/3821h/WIN98/EN-US/data2.msp.
Error: The file, C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\sr1patch\{C406FA02-1B0A-11D4-AED6-00C04F022C53}, has an invalid size.
Error: The Office 2000 SR-1 CD2 Update patch is missing or invalid.
Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 setup ended prematurely because of an error. It does the same thing every time. There is bugger all info on the Microsft site, the error is not listed at all. Searches with Google etc are useless. I've tried everything but no luck.
Please help!!
Many thanks
Jimmy B

You could try using WinZip to open the download and extract the files to the temp folder. Sometimes MS downloads don't unpack correctly.
