OE Error Message: Folder could not be displayed: Outlook Express could not open this folder.
Possible causes are:
Low disk space.
Low memory.
Outlook Express
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hi everybody,Recently, when I am in Outlook Express I have been getting the above error message in either the Sent items box or Deleted items box or both which, if you are aware of this problem, you will know also stops me sending messages while the error is on and stops me deleting received messages when that one is on.
I do not necessarily have any or many programmes on at the same time as this occurs.
Sometimes I have to reboot and it/they works for a time. Other times it seems to relight itself/themselves without having to reboot.
I have no idea what I am doing that prompts the error message.
All *dbx files are set to Archive. None are checked "Read only".
Appreciate your help.
Best wishes

Delete the DBX files for the folders that you are having a problem with. Outlook Express will rebuild them the next time it starts.

Hi,
I found the answer and not on any web site.
I went to: C:\Windows\Application Data\Identities\{a long number here}\Microsoft Outlook Express and in that file there are all the OE .dbx files.
In amongst those were three others: .old, .dbt and .avx. I deleted those and my problem has been solved and OE works a treat once again.
Hope this helps someone.
