I recently upgraded my computer -

AMD 1900+ XP
Abit KX7 - 333 (non raid version)
Gainward GF4 ti4200 64mb
Crucial 256 ram
Sb Live! 1024 sound card
Pionner DVD-CD rom drive

OS win98SE

Well basically i start up my computer, and it runs alright, then i start up a game it runs for a while then freezes..

I then hit the restart button and once the computer has come back on it seems to run perfectly... ??? Its really odd, it has also done this while running other applications, if anyone can help it would be much appreciated, thanks.

You could have too many things running at startup or one of these startup programs could be interfering with the apps that you are trying to run. Go to RUN on the START menu and type in msconfig then click OK then click the STARTUP tab and uncheck any items that aren't neccessary.

Check to see if it is a heat problem.

May be a heat problem. You can download MBProbe at the 2nd link. Go to the first link to read about what it does.

If it runs normally after a freeze/reboot, I doubt if it is a heat problem -- those heat engines aka AMD-XPs don't cool off that quick! I'd more first suspect faulty memory, either RAM or cache.
