There are some in this forum that think it is ok to be rude to others who post questions here. Believe it or not people, there are some that are not quite as experienced as you, and that is why they come here. If you don't want to help anyone with a problem, then get the hell out. This is not a put down forum. Yes, there will be extremely easy questions posted here at times, and it is not right for folks to make fun of others just because they don't quite understand their computers yet. That is no reason to be rude. Show a little maturity, or hit the road.

I agree completely. There seems to be a number of people with nothing better to do with their lives than put down others. They're the type that bully their co-workers and employees all day, and then go home and beat the C--p out of their spouses and children. (Or, they will eventually grow up to be that type of person.)

Unfortunately, nothing you or I can say will make them stop this. In view of that, the best defense against these jerks is the old "Report Offensive Message for Removal" bar. Click on it, type "confirm" in small letters in the box that appears in the next screen, and click the OK button. Justin is pretty good about removing insulting responses.

Special Truncated Version
Tom,
After having traveled through countless layers of indirection I find myself wondering whether or not your placing far too much importance on that Snoopy calendar that seems to fixate you much too often.
I certainly hope the young 'n' restless hackers occupying this sector of the "Information Highway" do not choose to launch a Chernobyl packet towards those oh-so-delicate ports of yours in response to your semi-caustic lambast.
On a side note if-you-will, would you please post (haste) the "diffs" in your Jargon file,
as I'm dying at the console of hunger & thirst here & am in need of inspiration.
MMMmmmm....the mem leak is is is, again an active foe.
I must bid thee farewell for now for the mouse's hot spot wanes cool.Spiked but leaving without a trace of gonking.
Fight the good fight....for truth, justice, the American whey.
Don't forget to leave the port light off for them....Sans Bafflegab 'n' Bushwa

I agree with Tom. (I couldn't make heads or tails out of response #2... Sure sounded "purdy," though.)

I wrote this post to state what I think is right. This is not a teenagers chat room, or a hackers hideout. This is a place for people to learn from others about how to deal with the little piece of high technology that a lot of us stare at all day. I'm only saying that we treat each other with a little respect...and for the most part, I see that here. I have said whats on my mind, so I will go on now. peace to everybody out there.

BRAVO TOM. About time somebody spoke up and tried to knock some sense into their heads here. Guess these "computer know it alls" can't remember when they just started in computers and couldn't even remember how to get to the control panel without directions. so more power to you. I'm behind you with all my support.

I totally agree with you Tom.
I have found that most of the time, a lot of the people who are belittling the inexperienced are wrong most of the time anyhow. I would think that they should be sure of the facts before leading others down the wrong track. We all learnt somehow, and it is hard enough to learn, with out being told the wrong information to boot.

I agree Tom. Some folks are just plain ole immature. They know it all, of course. We know nothing as far as they are concerned. Oh well...you can't stop 'em... Just let 'em vent...
