nwnblink.vxd in Win98SE

I tried to install a xircom pcmcia 10/100 ethernet/modem card but since I don't have the Win98SE cd-rom I couldn't complete the install.
Now I get "unable to find nwnblink.vxd, press any key to continue" errors when I re-boot. I can't find any refered to nwnblink.vxd by running 'sysedit'.
Any ideas how to get rid of the error message at boot time?

Thanks but I've decided to not install the pcmcia card so what I think I need is for Win98 to stop looking for nwnblink instead of simply adding nwnblink to make Win98 happy...if that's what you meant.
If you had something else in mind please let me know.

Boot to a command prompt and type scanreg /restore. Pick a date before you tried to install the card. This should clear up the problem.

I assume that 'scanreg /restore' will recover my registry to an earlier date. How often does win98 save off or archive the registry?
