Hi guys and good day. I'm currently using win98 se but I'm planning to have win2k Pro. My question is that if I will be asked by the setup program if I want to convert my FAT 32 to NTFS, could I pick FAT 32 still as my File Allocation? or if I choose NTFS, can I convert it back to FAT 32 once I plan on uninstalling win2k? thanks in advance.

zap is a free program, but I forgot you can use delpart too. When you reinstall back to 98 and you fdisk- usually the fdisk will not remove ntfs so you need to use delpart or zap to delete the ntfs. I don't think it'll ask you what file system. It's been my experience when I install an os it just does whatever it does.

Stick with FAT32... period. Don't even bother with NTFS. Unless you're running a business with sensitive computer files, and real security concerns, don't make things more complicated than what they have to be. Yes, NTFS is a better file system, but for the average computer user, it's like buying a Jaguar just to get to and from the grocery store; if you get my meaning.

Yes you can convert back fat32 by using the Win2k/XP installation CD. That is the simplest way. You will figure it out yourself when you install Win2000 for the first time.
