NT Server -vs- Workstation

I want to hook up my Wintel to my Apple/Mac network hub and I need to know if NT Workstation supports Appletalk networking and Mac client (or peer) sharing on it's own (without running any third party s/w). I am almost sure that NT Server does the deed as far as interfacing with the Macs, but I don't really think I should run NT SERVER and start using it as a workstation (or does it rally matter?). Any suggestions and SPECIFIC directions on HOW to config the network on the Wintel side would be much appreciated (remember, I'm a Wintel novice!)

I have since found out that NT Workstation does NOT directly support Mac clients, and that NT Server directly supports them (I think to a max of 5 clients, as is). So, I must decide if I want to try to run NT Server as a workstation (probably NOT), or is it really worth connecting to my Mac network at all? It's just a home thing for the experience/hell of it, so I think not. It's certainly not woth it to me to spend 250 bucks on the PC/MAC LAN software solution that Miramar Systems has for NT Workstation (or Server). Unless I can get a.......bootleg (sshhhhhhhh! don't say that!). Anyway, if anyone has any comments/better ideas feel free to spew them here.
