In my ignorance I deleted the 6 Novell files on my classroom computer. Now Windows doesn't work properly. It insists on going into "Safe Mode" and I can't access Control Panel without getting an error message. Also when I click on My Computer there is no drive D (cdrom). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Allan,
I remember a long time ago to have been confronted to the same problem...
In fact in save mode, sometimes Driver D is reconized as Driver E, as in windows (old versions) Driver D was a partition of Driver C.... So maybe it's your case...
I would suggest as well you perform a scan in your computer on Drive C to check for error, I think you know to do that...
In your desktop, click on your right mouse on Drive C to open it and go to "properties", then "tools", use a fast "scan" to check it with the automatic repair option bookmarked.
After if you have time, make a full defragmentation of your Hard drive C, for a better speed into your computer....
Relating to files you deleted, it will be vary hard to recover it if your erased the contains of your basket... you can do that anyway if you bring your computer to a tech department which will scan your HD with another computer and will find lost files, but it will cost you of course money to do it.......

Sometines you can boot your computer from a bootdisk (with cd-rom support). Then you should be able to start your computer in Safe Mode and have CD-ROM support. You should be able to use the Novell Client Install CD to re-install the drivers. The best way to do this is to remove the Novell Client and then re-install it.
The command line to do this is:
Win /D:M
You should go to your Hard Drive (C:) and then go to the Windows directory:
CD \Windows <Enter> and then type the command line.Don

Scanreg /restore will not restore deleted files (with the exception of the Registry, system.ini and win.ini).
