Comment:
I had a virus a couple of weeks ago, worm_klex.h. some of my exe files went missing, but by using the fix I managed to get most of them back. However, my notepad.exe file I can't find and can't open notepad or any documents with it.

Amradicool, Try doing a Find Files or folders for notepad.* The virus may have changed the extension of your notepad.exe to something else. If you find it just rename it to notepad.exe and try it. If you don't find it this way post back. It should be in your C:\WINDOWS folder.

Here are the results of my search:
3 Files in C:\Windows\Help Notepad.lcg in C:\Windows\Applog 5 Shortcuts
About notepad.com, the fix tool may have deleted this?
Where can I download it, that's probably the best solution, I ran a search but couldn't find much.
Help appreciated

I don't know which version of Windows you're using but you can use System File Checker to extract a copy of notepad.exe to your C:\WINDOWS folder either using your Windows 98 CD or pointing System File Checker to your cab files if they are on your hard drive(probably C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS
